The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 2,100 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 4 years to get that many views.

Guys and Gals,
Appreciate an update’s overdue. Been forging a few more campaign irons in the creative fire, working on some short stories and (gulp) an idea for a TV sitcom – !
However, something that’s recently caught my eye is ad watchdog’s Clearcast’s refusenik stance on running SodaStream’s perfectly legit TVC, arguing that the ad ‘denigrates the bottled drinks market’.
To sow my supportI’ve written an ‘open letter’ on my other blog, have started a Twitter hashtag ‘#SavetheStream’ (that even SodaStream UK has started to use) and set up a Thunderclap campaign.
Be great if y’all could check these out, and if you agree with what I’m saying…get involved!
So I went ahead and did it again.
The Kennedys asked so nicely, it was hard to refuse them.
A short story this time, check me one time and let me know what you think…
Just wanted to shamelessly big up my social media bits (hey it is my blog!)
Be grrrrreat to connect with y’all.
I’m now officially ‘out’ as Dave Barton, but will maintain my Tover Banda profiles.
Got an email late last week asking me to once again enter W+K Amsterdam’s internship competition ‘The Kennedys’, as someone who made last year’s shortlist.
Not sure how long the list was, but I know nearly 1,000 budding creatives entered, vying for just six places.
Check out http://thekennedys.nl/ to enter this year, or ‘like’ them on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Kennedys/163093687090524
Idea Bounty has finally sent my Bronze Award certificate for my Bertolli idea. Only thing is, I’m not actually sure which idea the award is for as I submitted two….
Dave Barton Bertolli Bronze
Any ideas – which do you think is better, or has more ’legs’ at least?
Yes, I know another Idea Bounty entry!!
Well, for anyone who wants to experiment and create something that just might earn you some credibility, I have to say it’s ideal.
However, this time I enlisted the help of aspiring Art Director, Marcus Royall, who worked with me to develop the concepts and imagery.
Check out the new portfolio tabs above and fingers crossed!
Three entries this time – ideas created for a Top Gear magazine free covermount giveaway.
Let me know what you think!
Got something worth saying, so figured I’d make the effort :)
My Paddy Power idea has been awarded a Bronze by Idea Bounty.
They’ve even give me a nice certificate to proudly display: Dave Barton Paddy Power Bronze
My second award from the crowdsourcing site. Any sort of recognition is good, but coming from Idea Bounty it’s great.
If nothing else, it indicates my ideas cut the mustard among other creatives.
So, I’m pleased :)
That’s two IB Bronzes now, so hopefully a Silver next time.
After that, ONE show here I come!
Has been a while but as ever, have some irons in the fire.
Looking at my progress to date, it’s quickly become apparent that I should look to acquire a creative partner.
To this end, I’ve put out a sort of online APB on a site called Single Creatives – a kind of industry matchmaking resource that links copywriters and art directors.
Who know what dreams may come of it? Anyhoo check out my profile: http://www.singlecreatives.com/
I’ve also signed up to be a blogger at Uprising – a site promoting the concept of cultural movements within advertising.
